Child Care Subsidy (CCS) helps families plan their relationship between work and childcare/kindergarten. The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is an Australian Government payment to assist parents with their out-of-pocket costs for the Woodlands Childcare or Kindergarten Fees.

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is determined by a family’s income, Activity hours, and both of these calculates a families Child Care Subsidy (CCS) percentage of contribution. It is important for parents to make themselves aware of the financial support available and consider how it may benefit their family. Child Care Subsidy
Number of Children in Child Care.

If you have more than one child aged 5 or younger in child care, you may get a higher Child Care Subsidy (CCS).
You can get the higher subsidy if all of these apply:
You get or will be eligible for CCS
Your higher rate child or children are using child care.
You have more than one CCS eligible child aged 5, or younger
Your family’s combined income is under $354,305
You’ll continue to get your standard CCS percentage for your ‘standard rate child’ (usually the eldest child) and any children aged 6 or above.
For the ‘higher rate child’ (usually your younger eligible child or children), you can get a 30% higher subsidy. This is a 30% increase on your standard CCS percentage. Centrelink will cap this at a maximum of 95%.

The Child Care Subsidy percentage your family is entitled to also depends on your family’s activity levels.
Recognised activities include:
Paid work including being self employed
Paid or unpaid leave, including paid or unpaid parental or maternity leave
Unpaid work in a family business
Unpaid work experience or unpaid internship
Actively setting up a business
The Child Care Subsidy percentage your family is entitled to also depends on your family’s activity levels.
They can also include any of these:
Doing an approved course of education or study
Doing training to improve work skills or employment prospects
Actively looking for work
Volunteering
Other activities on a case by case basis

Hourly Fee Cap
The amount of Child Care Subsidy you can get depends on the type of approved childcare you use. It also depends on the age of your child. All Woodlands Childcare & Kindergaten Campuses are eligible for the Centre Based Day Care Fee Cap which is an allowance of $12.74 per hour.

Child Care Subsidy
Absences and the Child Care Subsidy.
Initial Allowable Absence Days
The Child Care Subsidy provides 42 allowable absence days per financial year. Absence days can be used for the days your child would normally attend care and receive CCS. Reasons may include: public holidays, family vacation, sick days. For the initial 42 absence days, evidence does not need to be provided.
Additional Absence Days
For the 2022-23 financial year, you can get 10 extra allowable absences bringing the total number of absence days to 52. If the initial 42 allowable absence day limit has been reached, families may be eligible to receive additional absence days. Additional Absence days require supporting document to be submitted by the family (i.e. medical certificates) and will need to be submitted to Centerlink by the service.
Absences on First and Last Day of Enrolment
Please note that your child must be physically attending the centre on their first and last day of enrolment to be eligible to receive the Child Care Subsidy. In the case they are absent on their last day of attendance with preceding absent days, families can receive the Child Care Subsidy (for up to 7 days after the child’s last physical attendance) provided that supporting documentation has been submitted to the centre.

All Australian and Permanently Resident Families are eligible for Child Care Subsidy.
1) Sign in to myGov and go to Centrelink.
2) Select Payment and Claims from the menu, then Claims, then Make a claim.
3) Under Families, select Get started.
4) Select Family Assistance Payments
5) Answer all the questions. This includes how to submit your supporting documents – Submit your claim.
